Lateral cephalograms were taken for 50 families comprised of parents and at
least four children with the youngest not less than six years old. Measurements were made of the SNA/SNB angles and 18 families, Group I, had one parent who had a negative angular value. Another 18 families, Group II, had an angular difference of from 1° to 2.5°. It was found that there is a 100% greater chance that children of Group I parents having a skeletal three dental base relationship compared with children of Group II.
